Head to head

BeforeQuery vs Aisera

Aisera built one of the most complete multi-domain agent platforms in the market and was acquired by Automation Anywhere in 2025. It's a strong fit if you already run Automation Anywhere for RPA. If you don't — or if you'd rather not tie your agent layer to an RPA vendor — the trade-offs are worth walking through.

When to pick BeforeQuery

You don't run Automation Anywhere. Post-acquisition, Aisera's roadmap will lean into APA (Agentic Process Automation) — great if you want RPA + agents on one platform, less relevant if you don't run RPA. You want an open SDK. @beforequery/agents on npm means you can build custom agents in code, test them locally, ship them via the API. Agent Composer and Agent Studio are Aisera-hosted only. You care about inspecting the reasoning. Aisera's TRAPS framework is real security posture; our five commitments make the same guarantee *and* show the source paragraph on every answer. You want self-serve evaluation. Sign in, connect a source, ask a question, install a playbook. Aisera is a sales-led motion.

When to pick Aisera

You already run Automation Anywhere. Aisera slots into the APA story the acquisition set up — RPA for the deterministic legs, Aisera for the reasoning ones, one vendor. You need healthcare vertical depth today. Aisera has strong healthcare deployments (CVS Health, Merck, NHS references). We ship a Healthcare pack in Phase 4 with Epic / Availity / Cerner integrations; before then, Aisera is more proven in that space. You want a larger named integration catalogue on day one. 143 named tiles vs. our 17-hero today. Our long-tail catch-up plan is a UIA adapter (Composio) — good for parity of shape, less good if you need a very specific Aisera-covered tile immediately. You want the TRAPS brand in your board deck. It's a real framework and it has traction with security-first buyers.

When it is close

Both platforms grant JIT access, deflect tickets, run approval-gated writes, cite sources on answers, and speak SOC 2 + ISO 27001 + HIPAA. If your requirements sit in that overlap, the deciding factors are Automation Anywhere dependency, open SDK need, and pricing model (metered public tiers vs. enterprise contract).

Frequently asked questions

How is your Context Graph different from Aisera's context model?

Aisera has a strong internal knowledge and context stack, but they don't publish an operator-facing Context Graph surface with Explorer, Queries, and Sync. Our Graph is a first-class product — every relation traceable to source system and timestamp, browsable and queryable by the operator.

Aisera has 95+ languages. Do you match that?

Yes. Language-aware retrieval, per-KB vocabulary override, spelling-tolerant queries in 95+ languages ships in Phase 1 (P27 in the roadmap). Aisera's multilingual production depth is longer than ours — worth verifying if your global deployment is critical path.

What about the AGNTCY protocol Aisera supports?

AGNTCY is an emerging inter-agent framework. We support MCP and A2A today; AGNTCY is on the roadmap once the ecosystem stabilises. If you need AGNTCY at contract signing, Aisera has a shipped implementation.

How does your compliance timeline compare?

Aisera is ahead on shipped certifications today (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA all in production). Our Phase 2-5 track lands the same certifications by month 9. If your procurement demands a current SOC 2 report at contract signing, we're not there until Phase 2 completion.

Can we run both platforms during evaluation?

Yes — nothing prevents it. Our free tier lets you connect a knowledge source and route a subset of Slack channels or widget conversations without touching Aisera's installation. Compare grounding quality on the same corpus.
