BeforeQuery vs Console
Both platforms sit at the same buyer table — outcome-branded product pages, natural-language playbooks, approvals on every write. The differences are in what you can plug into, what you can inspect, and what shows up on the pricing page.
At a glance
Console column compiled from console.com/product/*, /faq/*, /compare/* (fetched 2026-09-06). Where a claim is not on Console's public site, the cell says so.
When to pick BeforeQuery
You want to plug the Assistant into more places than Slack and Teams — Zendesk, Intercom, Discord, MCP clients like Claude Desktop and Cursor, or a custom webhook. You care about inspecting the reasoning: paragraph-level source highlighting on answers, entity paths on actions, an immutable audit log on every write. If your buyer includes security or compliance, the trace matters. You want to evaluate before booking a demo. Sign in, connect a doc source, ask a question in under 5 minutes — no sales call required. You want to choose your model and rotate it later. Anthropic today, OpenAI next quarter, self-hosted after that — all on the same platform.
When to pick Console
You want the largest named integration catalogue on day one. Console publishes ~588 named tiles today; we get to 440+ addressable by month 12 through a mix of first-party providers, a Unified Integration API adapter, and a natural-language integration builder. If a specific niche SaaS tile matters to you now, check Console's list first. You're IT-only and never intend to serve HR, Finance, Sales or Legal from the same platform. Console's outcome-branded pages are strongest in ITSM; we sell all nine modules. You don't need MCP or A2A. If your team never touches Claude Desktop, Cursor, or an agent-to-agent workflow, the open protocol story doesn't change your buying decision.
When it is close
Both platforms handle password resets, JIT access, ticket deflection, approval-gated writes, and audit logging. If your requirements start there, the deciding factor is likely pricing transparency, model choice, and where you want the Assistant to live.
Frequently asked questions
Can we run both platforms side by side?
Yes. Nothing prevents dual-running during evaluation. Our free tier lets you connect a knowledge source and route a subset of Slack channels or widget conversations without touching Console's installation.
What happens to Console's integrations we already use?
If we support the integration natively (see /integrations), you connect it directly. If it's in the long tail, we'll route it through the Unified Integration API layer or the NL integration builder. Most one-off SaaS tools work day one; a handful of niche verticals get built to order.
Does BeforeQuery support Slack and Teams natively like Console?
Yes — both are first-class channels, plus Discord, Zendesk, Intercom, the embeddable widget, and MCP for Claude Desktop and Cursor.
Is your Trust Center audit-ready?
Yes. Every write is logged to an immutable audit trail. SOC 2 Type II is in progress (Phase 2); ISO 27001 in Phase 3; HIPAA + BAA available in Phase 4.
Do you have head-to-head customer references vs Console?
Not yet — Console is a newer competitor to us and both platforms serve overlapping-but-not-identical ICPs. On request, we'll connect you with a customer running the workflows you care about, whether or not they evaluated Console.
